Page 1 - Bike Cams Howto

I made a camera tripod mount for my motorcycle handle bar using a PVC "T" connector cut in half, a threaded end cap, a 1/4" bolt, and rubber hose for padding all fastened to the bar using hose clamps. I attached my Canon PowerShot SD550 and shot this video of my neighborhood.

Today I assembled a pseudo motorcycle camera mount. It is my old tripod with pipe hangers attached to it. As you can see it was badly adjusted, but it can be fixed. Bigger problem is that it catches way too much vibrations on bad polish roads. So it is little bit sh*tty. I will try to make that mount better but it will need some welding.

Ok so it's a bit of a cheat. I shot the long shot fottage on the tuesday and then the onboard camera stuff on the wednesday. I decided to add some music this time. Stangely enough it's not heavy metal (why do people always set footage of rc vehicles to heavy metal?) It's a rag time Jazz track copied from a 1920's 78rpm record, which is copyright free!

I had a go at sticking my new usb video camera on to the back of my rc motor bike. It looks a lot quicker on the bike than the long shots of it. The camera is eDVD 5 in 1 bought from tufflight dot com. Cost about $85 (£45).

Driving to work... with a better soundtrack. Much better results then the first test at night. Btw, yes it does look a bit anti-social, but it was really just a relaxed drive... I'll blame it on the camera's viewpoint....

Another first from Wonderfulcat. I've gaffer taped a video camera to an old motorcycle helmet (goodness, I must have looked strange to passers by). This gives a point of veiw shot of the rc user and what they are seeing. (Ever tried to video your rc vehicle while controlling it, tricky)! It also gave me a chance to compare my now infamous Nitro Thunder Tiger bike against an Electric Thunder Tiger bike, which I bought last week. It's been coloured in a fetching shade of yellow (makes a change from red). The Nitro bike is stock. The electric one has a Nosram Hawk ESC, a 19t Team Orion motor (I think brushed)and a 2000mha battery.

I installed a video camera on my motorcycle. Take a record of what I usually see while I am riding.
Watch the video if you want to know what it looks like.
